Title: STATUS QUO BIAS, RATIONALITY, AND CONSERVATISM ABOUT VALUE
Authors: Nebel, Jacob
Advisors: Kelly, Thomas
Department: Philosophy
Class Year: 2013
Abstract: My thesis is about status quo bias, which is our tendency to prefer the current state of affairs just because it’s the status quo. I argue that status quo bias may, in some cases, be fully rational, and this claim has implications for the nature of value.
