The Red-light District is a play that explores the social death of the Black Woman and society's perverse desire to be of her womb. Set in 1800s New Orleans, The Red-Light District utilizes the city's folklore, painting a vivid portrait of the lives of the three black female characters at its center. In shocking twists and turns, it captures the ever-tumultuous relationship between black women and the world while also exploring the role of race, gender, and abuse through the characters interacting with them.-
