Abstract: | In recent years, developments in technology has fueled the development of various forms of online learning. Website such as Coursera or Academic Earth allows for a wider range of audiences to partake in learning outside of the traditional classroom. 3ND (3nightsdone.org) is a website developed with this purpose, but with short courses that each last for 3 hours. Using this platform, every user behavior could be monitored to study learning behavior in this setting. The website currenty monitors aspects of student learning including student profiles, student answers to quizzes, and even video-watching behavior. The goal is to develop a methodology of monitoring student behavior in an online learning platform and gain insight into more effective teaching, focusing on video data. |
