The New Jersey Historic Roadway Study was developed to understand the significance of New Jersey’s interregional roads, and identify related roads requiring further study as part of NJDOT project planning. Municipalities, counties, or other transportation agencies can use the document to understand the historical context of other roadways. Using the Study premise and defining eras germane to their own road-building history, agencies can begin to create appropriate parameters for identifying significant roadways under their jurisdiction. The bibliography will prove very useful for anyone who delves into the history of roadway development.en_US
