Authors: Valentine, Erin

Department: Sociology
Class Year: 2016
Abstract: This project looks at the Lone Star Sun Dance community in Texas. By doing a series of in-depth interviews with 28 of the community members, this paper analyzed how non-Lakota people who had learned the ceremonies from Lakota people on the reservations experienced the spirituality differently and how they navigated their ethnicity differently from non-Lakota people who had only learned the ceremonies from other non-Lakota people.
