The Modern World and Technology's Increasingly Restrictive Nature Upon American Society

Abstract

This thesis attempts to take a closer look at technology and its effects upon modern society. From a sociological framework, the emphasis of this paper is to examine the negative implications that technology has upon society and draw a conclusion of what to expect from this relationship in the future as both society and technology progress. Among the many questions this thesis attempts to answer are how is technology negatively affecting society, do these negative impacts outweigh the benefits,and can something be done to limit technology before society and technology become so intertwined that they can no longer be separated from one another?
