Abstract: | This paper analyzes the debate between Bertrand Russell and P. F. Strawson regarding the truth-values of definite descriptions, particularly those of non-referring descriptions. I will examine philosophical trends that have influenced the debate. I will argue that context and truth-value intuitions play a large role in determining truth-values. |
