| Description: | This report considers the mass phenomenon of migration within Nepal. In particular, it considers the role of migration among poor, rural and often food insecure communities in the Far- and Mid-Western Hills of Nepal, for whom migration to India has become an accepted and widely adopted component of their livelihood strategy. Migration has become so common that even during harvest season, 44 per cent of households across Nepal have one or more family members absent pursuing distant labour opportunities. |
