Abstract: Leptonic decay modes of the W boson have been well-explored in data from the LHC. However, W hadronic decay modes are thought to make up over two thirds of all W decays, but are avoided because of the difficulty of W reconstruction through these channels. This thesis attempts to reconstruct W bosons through the J/\(\Psi\) + D\(_s\) decay mode, a channel more likely to produce results compared to other hadronic modes. This decay mode has never been experimentally explored. By making a series of cuts on a data set taken at the Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS), and then maximizing the signal-to-noise ratio of the reconstruction through analysis on Monte Carlo generated data, we arrive at a point where an experimental limit can be placed on the branching coefficient for this decay mode.
