| Abstract: | This thesis explores the cognitional theory and epistemology of twentieth-century philosopher Bernard Lonergan. I give analyses of the operations on each level of Lonergan’s three-tiered cognitional structure, using several extended exercises in order to demonstrate to the reader how these operations work concretely. I conclude by discussing the implications that Lonergan’s philosophy has for the notions of realism and objectivity. |
